Clearsonics in Ireland

The M50 Southern Cross Motorway is Clearsonics’ inaugural project where a Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) WayPhone system has been utilised including Pedestal WayPhones, fibre modems and a full WayPhone Manager for the control room which is essentially a virtual PBX.

The VoIP system of phones and Manager provided significant cost benefits over hard wired systems. As no PBX is required the system is less complex and costly to maintain plus a number of additional facilities can be provided such as Public Address.

Essentially Clearsonics has replaced hardware with software. The VoIP option is ideal for large networks of emergency telephones where fibre is preferred with a TCP/IP protocol.
